Tablet after a few weeks

[Archived in Entry, Tablet]

Fred's Blogspace[Fred's Blogspace] I've done well with using ink in OneNote for meetings, but the general navigation of the OS has been somewhat lacking. I've begun using the TIP and that is helping greatly.

Some slightly related from Technorati and Google.

http://www.ericmackonline.com [Eric Mack On-Line - www.EricMackOnline.com] Selling folks on Tecras and tablets: Scanning books and documents to read and review on theTablet seems to be working well and, despite the weight and size of theunit, I really enjoy the large screen. (I would not switch back.) As Iexplained to someone today: my screen is large enough to allow me to displaya page in a window on the left and run MindManager or OneNote in a pageon the right, I'm quite content to carry around a large Tablet.

Things That ”¦ Make You Go Hmmhttp://www.makeyougohmm.com [Things That ”¦ Make You Go Hmm] Article ponders: Will Tablet PCs ever become mainstream?: When talking about an Apple Tablet (which I would LOVE to see), keep in mind that the entire gesture-based OS interactions of the Newton have been moved to OS X. The Newton was brilliant at this, letting you write anywhere, translating phenomenally (with the Rosetta HWR, not the original fiasco from Paragraph that has been improved in MS Tablets these days), and letting you use gestures to do computer-typical actions.

[gadgetryblog] Motion Computing Launches Swanky Tablet PC: There are two versions of the LE1600, one with the Low Voltage Pentium M 758 chip (from $2199) and one with a less-powerful Ultra Low Voltage Celeron M 373 chip (from $1899). The Pentium M model includes 512MB of DDR2 memory and a 30GB hard drive as standard, whereas the Celeron M 373 variant comes with just 256MB as standard.

[Tabletpcs.weblogsinc.com] OneNote Organizer from The Student Tablet PC blog - The Tablet PCs ...: Each can be saved as Stationery in OneNote and even designated as the default page type for a particular section in the program. Very nice work and well worth a look if you prefer to organize and manage your day in OneNote.

Pigpog.comhttp://pigpog.com [Pigpog.com] PigPog Blog » Blog Archive » Tablet PC - Update after Six Weeks: As for the note taking applications, you should also consider Evernote, which is still in beta, but is almost near GA. I too have an M200, mine for a year now, and have found Evernote to be the best solution to tablet-mode, non-tablet mode data capture. BTW: I’ve started a multi-post review of my M200 at the 1 year point. From the one year out point, I too am mostly happy with my Toshiba.

Blogs.msdn.com[Blogs.msdn.com] Chris_Pratley's OneNote WebLog : The best ways to show OneNote to ...: When evangelizing I always ask people, “How many times have you been reading a key idea in some important material and didn’t stop to annotate because you knew you’d remember it, yet a day later you had to read the same material over again because it was just too difficult (laziness maybe) to create a simple highlight?” Well, OneNote only requires--again--a simple click to start the recorder and the key idea is recorded for immediate and future playback. The extension of the audio created in OneNote is set to be dragged into an MP3 player and listened to while on the long drive to work or school over an inexpensive FM transmitter.

[Blog.ericrice.com] Eric Rice :: Why I bought OneNote 2003: OneNote 2003 is Microsoft's $99 USD uber-notetaking software that I'm using for a variety of projects, and I'm also doing so in a way that will train me for my inevitable purchase of a Mac or Windows Tablet PC (there's no Mac tablet, although wishful thinking. And I'll need practice.
