Toshiba Libretto U100

[Archived in Entry]

Geeky Info[Geeky Info] Larger than the NEC MobilePro 900 handheld PC but smaller and lighter than just about any notebook on the market, the U100’s dimensions (1.3 inches thick, 8.3 inches wide, and 6.5 inches deep) mean that it can easily slip into a jacket pocket or a briefcase pouch and go anywhere you go. At 2.2 pounds, it’s also a few ounces lighter than the Dell Latitude X1 and nearly a pound less than the Sony VAIO VGN-T250, although both of these systems have larger screens and keyboards.

News.com.comhttp://news.com.com [News.com.com] IBM, Sony update lightweight laptops | CNET News.com: Part of the reason for the machines' lackluster market performance is that businesses often opt for 5-pound to 6-pound notebooks, which cost less and offer larger screens. Furthermore, many consumers--especially first-time notebook buyers--adopt 8-pound or larger machines with 15-inch or greater screens as replacements for desktops.
